Having tested dozens of other POS software solutions currently on the market, in an effort to find an application that would best suit our StoreKare^® software customers needs as a replacement, we were unable to find one that matched the StoreKare^® software solution in price, reliability, simplicity and feature set.

After much consideration, we have decided to produce our own POS software solution. Development of our new "Starpoint^® POS software system began on January 1, 2002 and is currently on schedule for a beta release in the summer of 2003.  We will begin considering a few select Retailers to participate in a Beta testing program in late spring 2003 and will also, at that time, begin considering qualified POS Dealers to represent our new product in the retail market.

We are developing a product, that we feel, will be a perfect match for existing StoreKare^® endusers, a perfect solution for existing Retailers looking for a better solution then they currently have and of course, the perfect match for new Retailers looking for their first POS solution.

Our new "Starpoint^® POS software system will be 100% 32 bit code and will be compatible with Microsoft's Windows 98^®, Windows NT^®, Windows 2000^® and Windows XP^® operating systems.  To help reduce total cost of ownership, it will support the low cost and highly reliable Linux Operating system as a backoffice file server (no per-client licensing requirements) as well as Windows NT^®, Windows 2000^® and Windows XP^® servers. We are designing scalability into the new "Starpoint^® POS software system by offering the ability to function without an SQL server or with an SQL server (if your demands require it)... and it will support Open Source SQL servers that will drastically reduce the cost of licensing.

From the ground up (not as an after thought addition), the new "Starpoint^® POS software system will have Internet capabilities for remote polling ( multi-store users ), remote reporting, remote messaging and remote management.
